The Deacon is a Xenomorph - like creature which appears at the ending of the 2012 film Prometheus.

The Deacon in the film was the result of Shaw having "sexual-relations" with Holloway after he was infected with the black liquid causing Shaw to give birth to an alien creature which later impregnated the Last Engineer as he tried attacking Shaw. A Deacon later burst from the Engineer.

Appearance

The Deacon appears to have the overall look of a Xenomorph. However, there are some major differences compared to a regular Xenomorph. A Deacon has a sharp point at the end of his head, only has an upper jaw on his internal jaw, and has no tail. The Deacon's upper jaw appears to have human-like teeth while his internal jaw and lower jaw have sharp jagged teeth, giving the appearance of a separate mouths.

Birth

The Deacon emerged after bursting from the Last Engineer on the USCSS Prometheus' Escape Craft on LV223, a Deacon is said to be born fully evolved as an adult (but since an adult version of Deacon has yet to be seen, it is unknown if that is true).

A Deacon was the result of Charles Holloway having "sexual-relations" with Elizabeth Shaw while infected with A0-3959x.91 – 15, causing Shaw to later give birth to the Trilobite which impregnated the last Engineer with Deacon.

Trivia

The Deacon was referred to as a Proto-Xenomorph or a Ultra-Morph in an early script by Jon Spaihts called Alien Engineers, this script was rewritten by Damon Lindelof which saw the creature being named 'Deacon'.

Notes

  • It is possible a Deacon is actually a Xenomorph, however it hasn't been speculated in the film or script.
  • Deacon = (Holloway+Shaw) + (Trilobite+Engineer).
  • A mural is seen of the Deacon (possibly a xenomorph) in the Alien Temple earlier in the film Prometheus indicating either the Deacon's birth was foretold or it is not the first of it's species.
  • A NECA action figure of Deacon is scheduled to be released in April 2013, however, it is available on Amazon which says that it is in stock and is also available for pre-order on Toy Wiz.com.
